Andaluz
(2004 6 minutes)
Collaboration with Joanna Priestley
Music: Juanito Pascual
A traveler’s love letter to Andalucía,
this animated film is an homage to the culture, landscape, and architecture
of southern Spain. The film explores details of the natural world
in relation to the four elements, and suggests the close relationship
between people and the land which they inhabit.
"Colors dance and landscapes morph to the rhythms
of southern Spain in the latest work from two award-winning animators."
New York Film Festival
"Short but sweet, this new animated tribute
to southern Spain is just six minutes long, but the tale spans centuries."
Cheryl Sinapis, Boston
Globe Calendar
"A gorgeous animated short...This moving
work is a mostly abstract homage, in lush images and music, to the
southern Spain of the Moors and the Gypsies and flamenco."
Gerald Peary, The
Boston Phoenix
